Managers are putting their gratitude into words.

This year, during EVS Week 2025, we’re pointing out the specific dedication of four Environmental Services staff members at Trinity Health’s Mount Carmel Health System. The great and important work they do is representative of the professionalism shown from coast to coast and around the world in EVS Departments — keeping hospitals clean, safe, and infection free.

In 2025, the recognition of Mount Carmel EVS staff is coming directly from the Managers who work alongside these heroes every day.

Saul Saucedo 
Environmental Services Technician
Over 23 years of making a difference

“ Saul Sauce­do has been work­ing for over 23 years in a hos­pi­tal set­ting in Envi­ron­men­tal Ser­vices. Saul has been with Mount Carmel for 6 years. Saul has cleaned all areas in the hos­pi­tal such as OR ter­mi­nal clean­ing, dis­charges, ER, and spe­cial­izes in floor care. Saul does this with a smile on his face know­ing he is mak­ing a dif­fer­ence by play­ing a vital role in keep­ing the hos­pi­tal clean and keep­ing patients, fam­i­lies, and staff mem­bers from get­ting infec­tions.

Saul is very flex­i­ble with his sched­ule and pro­vides cov­er­age wher­ev­er he is need­ed.  Saul has made a huge impact on our team. Every area Saul works in he does his best and is fol­low­ing hos­pi­tal reg­u­la­tions. Saul strives to pro­vide the best expe­ri­ence for patients, team mem­bers and vis­i­tors. Saul has received numer­ous shoutouts about the work he does whether it is clean­ing the floors or clean­ing areas.

Beverley Oliver   
Environmental Services Technician
Ensuring that first impressions are sparkling

“ Bev has ded­i­cat­ed over 15 years of ser­vice to the Mount Carmel Envi­ron­men­tal Ser­vices Depart­ment. She works a very busy sched­ule tak­ing care of all the pub­lic areas of the hos­pi­tal, ensur­ing all first impres­sion areas are sparkling and wel­com­ing to all patients, vis­i­tors, and cus­tomers.

Bev­er­ley man­ages mul­ti­ple phone calls through­out the day for ser­vice requests. Bev­er­ley is very flex­i­ble with her sched­ule and is always will­ing to assist wher­ev­er she is need­ed.

Bev­er­ley has built sol­id rela­tion­ships with col­leagues through­out the hos­pi­tal over the years and has been rec­og­nized for her hard work and ded­i­ca­tion by oth­er depart­ments as well as EVS.

Sheila Pannell 
Environmental Services Technician
Taking the lead in doing special projects

“ Sheila has been with Mount Carmel for 11 years.  Sheila always tries to do the best job pos­si­ble whether it was work­ing on 3 Tow­er at Mount Carmel West and cur­rent­ly at Mount Carmel Franklin­ton Emer­gency Depart­ment.

Sheila always takes the lead when doing spe­cial projects and takes pride in com­plet­ing all tasks and strives to get it right every time.  She also helps process the bio­haz­ard waste and runs the floor scrub­ber when need­ed. Sheila has received mul­ti­ple recog­ni­tions for her out­stand­ing work.

Myrtha Uyoa
Environmental Services Technician
Magnificent impact on service for patients and families

“ Myrtha is the type of col­league that will do what­ev­er is asked of her, no mat­ter how many dis­charges or dai­ly cleans, she just gets the job done.

She does her job with a smile all the time and tries to spread her good atti­tude to oth­ers as she goes about her day. She has also been rec­og­nized by the nurs­es and unit clerks in her assigned area, which is pri­mar­i­ly on the 5th floor, one of our busy units that cov­ers the over­flow from the surgery area.

Myrtha also likes to par­tic­i­pate in our depart­ment potluck by bring­ing in a dish that she pre­pares from her native coun­try Mex­i­co to share with her fel­low col­leagues.  She takes a lot of pride in the work she does each day. Her mag­nif­i­cent work has had an impact on our ser­vice for the patients and their fam­i­lies.
