There are EVS Superheroes at Trinity Health’s Mount Carmel Health System
Managers are putting their gratitude into words.
This year, during EVS Week 2025, we’re pointing out the specific dedication of four Environmental Services staff members at Trinity Health’s Mount Carmel Health System. The great and important work they do is representative of the professionalism shown from coast to coast and around the world in EVS Departments — keeping hospitals clean, safe, and infection free.
In 2025, the recognition of Mount Carmel EVS staff is coming directly from the Managers who work alongside these heroes every day.
HERE’S WHAT MANAGERS HAVE TO SAY:
Saul Saucedo
Environmental Services Technician
Over 23 years of making a difference
“ Saul Saucedo has been working for over 23 years in a hospital setting in Environmental Services. Saul has been with Mount Carmel for 6 years. Saul has cleaned all areas in the hospital such as OR terminal cleaning, discharges, ER, and specializes in floor care. Saul does this with a smile on his face knowing he is making a difference by playing a vital role in keeping the hospital clean and keeping patients, families, and staff members from getting infections.
Saul is very flexible with his schedule and provides coverage wherever he is needed. Saul has made a huge impact on our team. Every area Saul works in he does his best and is following hospital regulations. Saul strives to provide the best experience for patients, team members and visitors. Saul has received numerous shoutouts about the work he does whether it is cleaning the floors or cleaning areas.
We are very grateful to have Saul on our Mount Carmel EVS Team.”

Sheila always takes the lead when doing special projects and takes pride in completing all tasks and strives to get it right every time. She also helps process the biohazard waste and runs the floor scrubber when needed. Sheila has received multiple recognitions for her outstanding work.

– Joel Paige 1st Shift EVS Operations Manager
Myrtha Uyoa
Environmental Services Technician
Magnificent impact on service for patients and families
“ Myrtha is the type of colleague that will do whatever is asked of her, no matter how many discharges or daily cleans, she just gets the job done.
She does her job with a smile all the time and tries to spread her good attitude to others as she goes about her day. She has also been recognized by the nurses and unit clerks in her assigned area, which is primarily on the 5th floor, one of our busy units that covers the overflow from the surgery area.
Myrtha also likes to participate in our department potluck by bringing in a dish that she prepares from her native country Mexico to share with her fellow colleagues. She takes a lot of pride in the work she does each day. Her magnificent work has had an impact on our service for the patients and their families.
We are very grateful to have Myrtha on our Mount Carmel EVS Team.”
