Shawn, one of our founders, has been with Smart Facility Software since 1990. In the last 30 years, Shawn has been on site in more than 500 Hospitals. He has evaluated workflow and implemented changes with some of the largest hospital environmental services departments in the world. His areas of operational expertise include Staffing and Evaluating the EVS Department, Quality Assurance Techniques, Bed Turnover Management, Training for Employees and Managers, Creating and Implementing Employee Work Assignments, and Software Development.
Shawn believes Smart Facility Software’s technology is essential to efficiency in acute care hospital EVS departments, resulting in HAI reduction, HCAHPS improvement, and maximum operational efficiency.
As the CIO / CTO of Smart Facility Software, Mark is at the center of turning innovative ideas into reality. He joined SFS in 1997 after serving as the VP of Development at TeleTracking Technologies for 5 years. Mark has a Masters in Electrical Engineering and Theoretical Mathematics. He is responsible for all Information Technology and Research and Development at Smart Facility Software, as well as our Support teams and web developers.
Mark has brought a number of successful software products to the healthcare operations market, 13 of which are offered by Smart Facility Software.
Chris has over 25 years of experience in business development, budgeting, planning and implementing state-of-the-art custodial/environmental services programs. For 11 years he served as the assistant director of EVS at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center and Florida Hospital Oceanside.
At Smart Facility Software, Chris uses his more than a decade of EVS experience to work with medical and educational facility managers to implement both management and software programs that increase productivity and accountability.
Jodie is a Columbia MBA with a 19-year career in advertising and marketing that started with Ogilvy & Mather in New York. With six years in healthcare-focused marketing, she brings a special understanding to our clients’ daily challenges.
Working with Smart Facility Software since 2008, Jodie helps hospitals in their research, vetting and selection of environmental services and infection prevention software.
David Pruitt joined Smart Facility Software in 2016 after two years working with HHS in EVS Director and Assistant EVS Director roles. He was assigned to Atlanta Medical Center-South and Coliseum Northside Hospital.

As the Director of Operations, David project manages the delivery of our EVS consulting services and coordinates on-site work.
Scott has been in healthcare for 40 years. His extensive experience includes working with Service Master, Aramark and the Reading Hospital, where he managed diverse support services departments. The majority of Scott’s experience has been in environmental services management, with some time spent managing a patient transportation and call center.
Scott has spent the last six years of his healthcare facilities career at Smart Facility Software, where he provides software support and training to clients. He also assists clients with space inventories, task and frequency studies, software training and support, and staffing analyses to support effective environmental services management.
Johnson joined the Smart Facility Software team in 2019 and provides data-loading and EVS consulting services. He has more than 10 years of healthcare and housekeeping experience in the hospital environment. He worked as the Assistant Director of Environmental Services at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida.
Also, he feels fortunate to have been under the leadership of our very own Christopher Lucier at Florida Hospital.
Bernie joined Smart Facility Software in 2015 with nearly 35 years of information management experience. With leadership positions in Information Systems at both large and small companies (such as Dell, CEVA Logistics, Fiesta Gas Grills and Matthew walker Health Center), he brings a real-world understanding to how data affects processes.
That’s why he is our most prolific data loading specialist, having recorded nearly 170 million square feet of hospital space. Bernie’s accurate facility information is at the core of producing realistic and trackable expectations for your department.
As a dedicated and detail-oriented accounting professional, Crystal has been meeting our accounting needs for over 15 years. She joined the Smart Facility Software team in January 2005, providing a variety of services in the finance department.
Prior to coming to Smart Facility Software, Crystal spent many years as a self-employed bookkeeper and accountant, providing a wide range of bookkeeping services to small businesses. With over 30 years in the bookkeeping industry, she provides seamless service in our finance operations.
